How do you present Montessori materials?
To present a Montessori material: invite one child, carry the material to a mat or table, sit with the child on your side (usually the left for right-handers), show each step slowly with precise movements and few words, invite the child to try, then step back. Return the material to the shelf together so the child knows where it lives.
What this means in practice
A good presentation is short, calm and clear. The child should be able to see your hands.
Steps in a presentation
- Invite: 'I have something to show you'
