What to look for in a real Montessori school
An authentic Montessori school has trained Montessori teachers, a complete set of Montessori materials on open shelves, mixed-age groups (usually 3–6), a long uninterrupted work period each morning, children choosing their own work, minimal worksheets and rewards, and adults who observe and guide quietly. Some schools are affiliated with AMI or AMS.
What this means in practice
Many schools are 'Montessori-inspired', which can still be good, but it is different.
